Where can I find ... ?

 a Medical Centre

Simply locate you state and then browse using the alphabetic list to find a medical centre located near to you or one that you know.  Click on the picture of their homepage to be taken directly to their site. As the list grows in time we may divide the states into regions.

Why doesn't ... ?

It is almost routine for Medical Centres in the U.K to have their own website with some having a degree of interactivity for patients. This concept seems slower to take off in Australia. Perhaps it is because broadband in the U.K. is now present in 73% of homes but then the population spends more time inside due to inclement weather conditions. It does make good sense to have a web presence. Not only is it an advert for your patients but it helps to bring the practice together as a team.

If the website is promoting the company rather than Primary Care I have decided to leave these to one side.

the state with the most websites

Not the best English but currently Victoria with 23 lead the way with Queensland on 18 and New South Wales on 16. The others lag far behind. Interestingly there are few practices outside of the state capital that have their own website.

the best way to get onto the Web

Decide what you want, how much you want to pay and look at examples of designers and their work. Some developers do offer sites for free but this is offset by their advertising and the layout being a marketing exercise. Also you are very unlikely to rank high in search engines like Goggle. We do believe you get a better result by investing in your site.
